CONTENT VERIFICATION
When an Article or Note is published, Meridian automatically creates a publication record and sends it to Solana. To verify that publication, recalculate the original's hash and compare it with the on-chain record.
Choose “More → Source record” on an Article or Note to check it.
Back to reading →Publishing an Article or Note records its text, attachments, ID, and capture time, then calculates a hash. Drafts are not recorded on-chain.
The hash is written into a Solana transaction. Once finalized, neither Meridian nor the author can overwrite the record in that transaction.
Recalculate the text and attachment hashes, compare them with the on-chain record, and check the signature and time. Verification passes only when all checks pass.
No. A finalized publication record cannot be overwritten. Changing its text, attachments, ID, or capture time changes the hash, so it cannot pass verification against the original record.
No. An update creates another record linked to the previous one, with its on-chain time set by a new Solana transaction. The original record remains. A new record cannot rewrite its content or time.
No. The ID is part of the hash calculation. Changing it or the text breaks the match with the original Solana transaction. Verification uses the record in that transaction, and you can keep its direct link.
No. Drafts do not enter the publication record. Articles and Notes are recorded on-chain automatically after publication and can be checked once the transaction is finalized.
Open the Solana record from the results page to see its hash and confirmation time. You can also download the verification data, calculate the file's SHA-256 hash, and compare it with the hash in that transaction.
Paste it below. The check starts when the record opens. A record number is just a way to find it.
